Lynn is known to many members as an experienced Buteyko educator and still works daily at the coalface of Respirology. Her work has probably saved many lives, but her modesty prevails, so she’ll share with us how, as a Pulmonary Rehab Specialist, she successfully uses Buteyko in a highly scrutinised acute care setting. Most of Lynn’s patients
have life-threatening conditions, so hearing how she manages to exercise her protocol in these challenging settings is fascinating.
Lynn will be focusing on the profound effects of the chronic and life-changing disorders that she sees every day, such as COPD. We read the symptoms and may understand the term and its physiology. Lynn sees and hears the life stories of the people, sometimes behind the statistics and charted medical outcomes, that make up hospital budgets. Lynn knows the people, gets them moving, and explains directly to them why they need to move. Not in an abstract medical advice manner, but in the manner in which Lynn has spent her career caring for people.
